Convention last meal; flight from Atlanta to Kingston, Jamaica--October 20, 2024

Fourth day of traveling.  Sunday, October 20, 2024

Though I got up late and the food was taken off the trays in the dining area, I still got to get my breakfast from the kitchen, thanks to a young man named Soboor.

Worked in the room.

Packed up and left before 1 pm [I had an extension on the check out time]

Took shuttle to the airport

I had tried to get the boarding pass, checking online, from the hotel room, but the system said I needed to see a Delta Airlines agent.  I guess it was because I had a one way ticket to Jamaica.

At ATL stood in the long line for an agent; talked to Tiffany who sorted things out.  I thought I would have to show my other ticket, from Jamaica to Trinidad, but I did no have to.  She just asked me how I was planning to leave Jamaica.  A boarding pass was issued.

Went through the security.  A dog was being used to sniff drugs.  I wanted to take a photo but a security person saw me getting my phone ready, she said no to me with her index figure waving.

Walked towards concourse E, but then took the train from Concourse C to E.

My gate was E31 but I waited at E32; finished some work.

Boarded the plane and left Atlanta.

It is scary to see so many airplanes all taking off or landing at the same place.

Reached Kingston.  At the immigration post the young woman already had my C5 form on the computer.  She asked me if I was staying at the Courthouse.  I answered in affirmation even when I was not.  There was no point in making any changes and rattle the bureaucratic process.

Then went through Customs.

Budget car rental.

Out to the parking lot.  SIM not working for data.  Back to the airport and connected to their wireless network; back to car but the map was gone.  With the help of a blue dot moving on the screen, made to the Oxford Road but could not find the apartment.  Called the host and finally got in.
