October 28. Port of Spain to Miami to Atlanta

Got up early and went through the morning routine.  Michael showed up before the scheduled time.  With him to the airport.  First flight, Port of Spain to Miami.  Several hours in Miami.  A variety of food available at the airport but I decided to finish up the nuts I had. Then Miami to Atlanta.  Shuttle to the hotel.

 My third day of traveling.  Saturday, October 19, 2024 I could not sleep till about 3 in the morning and then I was up around 830 am. Attended the Convention morning program, after the breakfast. NED Alumni Convention, Atlanta

 Second day.  October 18, 2024 Jumping three time zones in a day is too much for my body.  I had patchy sleep.  In the evening, attended the first day program of the NED Alumni Convention.  For many of us the alumni convention is the biggest annual celebration: Eid, Christmas, Holi, Diwali, Vaisakhi, all rolled in one. The NED program was emceed by Asad Bajwa and Noor (Ani?).  Presentations were given by  Abdullah Jafri, Chairman of Outreach & Fundraising Committee of The Citizens Foundation-USA Anwar Khan, Founder and President of OBAT Helpers Farooq Mughal, member of Georgia House of Representatives Rahim Shah Akhunkhail, Founder 'Voices of Muslims' Dr. Shershah Syed of Koohi Goth Hospital A Quiz Show dubbed 'Neelam Ghar' was conducted by Sibte Faruqui An electrifying live music performance by Tehseen Javed and his band concluded the program around midnight.

San Jose to Atlanta

First day.  Thursday, October 17, 2024 Uber to SJC.  American Airlines, from San Jose International Airport (SJC) to Dallas Fort Worth.  American Airlines, from Dallas to Atlanta (ATL).    A lot of people pass through busy airports and often people spend a lot of time in transit.  Why not adore airports walls and empty spaces with artwork and make things interesting and educational for people?  Moscow metro stations are famous for their displays.  Istanbul airport has a museum travelers can visit.  San Francisco airport has changing displays of pottery, jewelry, and other artwork.  Singapore airport has a botanical garden.  And now Atlanta Airport has been turned into a Civil Rights Movement museum.  Shuttle to Atlanta Airport Marriott. By the time I was in the room it was already 1 a.m., October 18.
